From the foundation to the measuring panel: everything from a single source

An outdoor enclosure rarely stands alone: it needs a foundation or a bracket, sealed cable routes, interior fittings for the equipment and sensors for operation. ZPAS supplies the complete accessories range for the SZD series — mounted ex works or packed separately. This page shows the most important components; in the configurator they can be ordered at the same time. All components are matched to the SZD series — in the IP54 standard version as well as in the IP55 outdoor enclosure.

ACCESSORIES · INTERIOR FITTINGS

Interior fittings: swing frames, frames & equipment shelves

Swing frames make the rear of the 19″ level accessible without clearing out the enclosure. Frames are available with one or two sections in 19″ or 21″ (mounting width 456/515 mm), and as box-type frames for higher loads. Equipment shelves for the emergency power supply are made of stainless steel and matched to the batteries used.

ACCESSORIES · CABLE ENTRIES

Partitions & sealed cable entries

Aluminium sheet partitions divide the enclosure into autonomous compartments (e.g. battery, system equipment, MDF, electrics). The cables pass between the compartments through foam-filled entries, rubber cable glands or ROXTEC entries — sealed against dust and moisture, neatly retrofittable.

ACCESSORIES · MOUNTING

Mounting: from the wall bracket to the concrete foundation

Small enclosures are fitted with mounting brackets on a wall or pole. Floor-standing enclosures stand on concrete foundations (precast, M12 anchoring, cable openings on all sides), on the concrete foundation frame with laying templates, on the stainless steel plinth foot for casting in concrete — or on the 600 mm aluminium plinth with height-adjustable stainless steel levelling foot. Against rising cold and moisture: the insulating frame with insulating foam under the enclosure.

ACCESSORIES · ELECTRICS

Electrics in the enclosure: switch, thermostat, heater

The door position switch (3 positions, changeover contact, including “service” position) reports every door opening; the door stay holds open doors securely in place. Bimetal thermostats — as normally open or normally closed versions (0–60 °C, 6 A / 250 V AC, radio-interference suppressed to VDE 0875) — control fans, heaters or heat exchangers. The compact heater (200/400 W, 10 m³/h, IP 20) sits on the DIN TS 35 rail.

ACCESSORIES · POWER SUPPLY

Power supply: 48 V power supply unit & secured systems

For telecoms and IT networks, ZPAS supplies guaranteed power supply systems as enclosure fit-out. The core component is the switched-mode power supply 230 V AC → 48 V DC in a 19″ housing (input 10 A) — combinable with a battery compartment and ventilation to bridge power failures.

ACCESSORIES · MONITORING

Monitoring: MPSM-S1 & distribution panels

The programmable 19″ panel MPSM-S1 measures voltage, current, power, temperature and humidity per connection — with Ethernet module, alarms and 8 GB of memory for around 24 months of measurement data. In addition, configurable voltage distribution panels to project specifications.

Frequently asked questions — accessories

How do cables enter the outdoor enclosure without compromising the seal?

Via three systems, depending on requirements: foam-filled entries, rubber cable glands or ROXTEC entries. All of them maintain the degree of protection and at the same time separate the enclosure compartments from each other.

Wall, pole or foundation — what is provided for?

All three: mounting brackets for wall and pole mounting of smaller enclosures; for floor-standing enclosures, concrete foundations with M12 anchoring, concrete foundation frames with laying templates, stainless steel plinth feet or a 600 mm aluminium plinth with height-adjustable stainless steel levelling foot.

How is the enclosure monitored and temperature-controlled?

Door position switches report every opening (including the service position), bimetal thermostats (0–60 °C, 6 A) control fans, heater or heat exchanger, and the heater delivers 200/400 W on the DIN rail. For measurement and remote monitoring there is the 19-inch panel MPSM-S1 with Ethernet and 24 months of data storage.
