Tested quality — documented and available for download

Anyone planning electrical enclosures or cabinets into a project needs evidence: for the tender, for the CE marking of the complete installation, for supplier qualification in purchasing. ZPAS has been manufacturing with multi-stage quality assurance since 1973 — from sheet steel processing and welding through to the final inspection of every delivery. Here you will find all certificates as original PDFs; the complete archive, including declarations of conformity for each series, is in the download centre.

MANAGEMENT · QUALITY

ISO 9001 — quality management

The quality management system of the ZPAS plants is certified to ISO 9001 — from goods receipt through production to final inspection. For buyers, this means documented processes, reproducible quality and an auditable supplier.

MANAGEMENT · ENVIRONMENT

ISO 14001 — environmental management

Production operates under a certified ISO 14001 environmental management system — relevant for contract awards with sustainability criteria and for supply chain reporting in which environmental evidence from upstream suppliers is required.

PRODUCT · NORTH AMERICA

UL approval — SZE2, SZE3, SWN

The SZE2/SZE3 electrical enclosures and the SWN wall-mounted enclosures are UL-certified. Machine and plant manufacturers exporting to the USA or Canada receive the enclosure from the factory with the appropriate certificate — without having to go through their own approval process.

PRODUCTION · WELDING

EN 15085-2 CL1 & EN ISO 3834-2

Welding certification for rail vehicles and components in the highest class, CL1, plus the comprehensive quality requirements of EN ISO 3834-2 — the entry ticket for rail projects and safety-critical welded assemblies.

PRODUCT · STANDARDS COMPLIANCE

IEC 61439 & IEC 62208

Electrical enclosure systems are built to IEC 61439 (low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies), empty enclosures are tested to IEC 62208 — including a declaration of conformity and load capacity certificates for each series.

PRODUCT · EU CONFORMITY

CE, RoHS & REACH

CE declarations of conformity and RoHS and REACH confirmations cover the EU obligations — the documents required for every CE marking of the complete installation and in every supplier self-assessment.

PURCHASING · QUALIFICATION

Achilles supplier qualification

ZPAS is registered as a qualified supplier in the Achilles Community — which speeds up supplier approval at utilities and large corporations that purchase via Achilles.

All certificates are free of charge; product-specific declarations of conformity and technical drawings for each series are collected in the download centre. Which degrees of protection the enclosures achieve and what the standards mean in practice is explained in the guides to IP ratings and more.

Frequently asked questions — certificates

Are ZPAS enclosures UL-certified?

Yes — the SZE2 and SZE3 electrical enclosure series and the SWN wall-mounted enclosures carry UL approval for the North American market. The UL certificates are available for download as a package and are provided on request.

What does EN 15085-2 CL1 mean for rail projects?

Certification to EN 15085-2 in the highest class, CL1, permits the welding of rail vehicles and components with the highest safety requirements. Together with EN ISO 3834-2 (comprehensive quality requirements for welding), it qualifies ZPAS for enclosure and component manufacturing in the rail sector — more on the rail & transport page.

Can I get the certificates for my tender?

Yes — certificates and declarations of conformity (CE, RoHS, REACH, IEC 62208) are provided on request and are available free of charge in the download centre. For bills of quantities, ready-to-use specification texts are available.

To which standards are the enclosures manufactured?

Electrical enclosures and distribution boards are built to IEC 61439 (low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies) and IEC 62208 (empty enclosures); the degrees of protection are tested to EN 60529 — what the IP codes mean is explained in the guide to IP ratings. The SZE3 is manufactured to EN 62208, outdoor enclosures achieve IP54/IP55 and IK10 to EN 62262.
