The SZE3 is the universal enclosure for automation and electrical engineering indoors: a bolted frame of closed profiles, perforated on two planes on a 25 mm grid — making the interior fit-out practically unlimited and baying simple. 32 standard sizes, degree of protection IP 55, manufactured to EN 62208, UL-certified. Design, standard & equipment
Bolted frame, full symmetry
Closed profiles provide high rigidity; the profile shape makes the frame fully symmetrical — the door and covers can be mounted on any side. The galvanised frame remains protected against corrosion without painting.
25 mm grid on two planes
Every profile is perforated on two planes on a 25 mm grid — a full-height mounting plate, swing frame or (galvanised) mounting rails can be fitted in any position without drilling.
IP 55 to EN 60529, EN 62208
The SZE3 offers IP 55 as standard — protection against dust and water jets without additional measures. Manufactured to EN 62208 (empty enclosures), with a UL certificate of conformity.
Doors on any side
Front door with double-bit lock, optionally a swing handle with profile half-cylinder; thanks to the symmetry it can also be mounted on the side or rear — practical for installation against a wall and in narrow aisles.
Swing frame & mounting plate
A full-height mounting plate is included in the scope of delivery; the swing frame and further interior fittings (galvanised steel profiles) come from the accessory range — including a 19-inch level.
From plinth to lighting
The SZE3 accessory range covers everything: door range, enclosure floor, earthing and shielding, lighting (p. 92–93), panels and blanking covers, cooling and heating.

What is the difference between the SZE3 and the SZE2?
The SZE3 is bolted rather than welded: a frame made of closed profiles perforated on two planes on a 25 mm grid — fully symmetrical, so the door can be mounted on any side. IP 55 as standard (SZE2: IP 54), galvanised frame, manufactured to EN 62208.
What is included in the scope of delivery?
Enclosure frame, front door with double-bit lock, rear panel, mounting plate over the full enclosure height, top cover and sliding floor plates. Side panels, plinth, lifting eyes and swing frame are ordered separately — most easily in the configurator.
Are special sizes available?
Yes — in addition to the 32 standard sizes, non-standard dimensions (e.g. 1800 mm height) are manufactured in consultation with our sales team. The quotation with drawing follows within 2 working days at most.
