Where chips fly, dust settles or splashing water occurs, an unprotected computer has no place. The SZE2 PC encloses the complete PC workstation for controlling work processes in an IP 54 cabinet — and controls access at the same time: three compartments with different half cylinders and keys separate the monitor (top, behind a glass door), keyboard (middle, pull-out drawer behind a flap with quarter-turn lock) and computer (bottom, behind a solid sheet steel door). The operator can reach the keyboard — only those with the right key can reach the PC itself.

Cooling: thanks to IP 54, from filter fan to cooling unit
The PC and monitor heat up the closed cabinet — and unlike an open 19″ rack, the heat cannot simply escape. The good news: because the SZE2 PC meets IP 54, all cooling options are available, including the compressor cooling unit, which requires at least IP 54 on the cabinet and maintains the degree of protection in operation. With low power loss, a heat exchanger is often sufficient. Because the SZE2 PC is based on the SZE2 frame, it inherits its strengths: it can be bayed with further SZE2 PC cabinets or SZE2 electrical enclosures, and besides the 19″ accessories, the complete range of SZE2 electrical enclosure accessories fits as well. The payload: 600 kg mounted on a plinth, 500 kg mobile on type 300 castors.
