ZPAS stainless steel enclosures are electrical enclosures made of rust-free steel for corrosive, hygienic and outdoor environments: the SWN Inox wall-mounted enclosure in AISI 304 (optionally AISI 316/316L) in IP 65 to EN 60529, 300×200 to 1000×800×300 mm, plus stainless steel outdoor cabinets made to drawing. Galvanised and painted sheet steel covers most industrial environments — but there are applications in which only stainless steel lasts: aggressive cleaning with chemicals and hot steam in food and pharmaceutical production, salt spray at coastal and marine sites, corrosive atmospheres in chemical plants and wastewater treatment plants — or simply the requirement that an enclosure survives decades outdoors without coating maintenance.

SWN Inox: the 20 standard sizes
The SWN Inox stainless steel wall-mounted enclosure is available in 20 standard sizes from 300 × 200 × 115 mm to 1,000 × 800 × 300 mm (height × width × depth) — stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304) to EN 10088, IP 65 to EN 60529, galvanised sheet-steel mounting plate included in the scope of supply. Other stainless steel grades such as AISI 316 and powder coating are possible on request.

For outdoor use, ZPAS manufactures outdoor cabinets in stainless steel sheet per project: single or double door, with any interior layout, 19″ levels or mounting plates — and powder-coated in any RAL colour on request, from the traffic green of municipal infrastructure to the corporate colour of the grid operator.

Frequently asked questions — stainless steel enclosures
AISI 304 or AISI 316 — which stainless steel for which application?
AISI 304 (1.4301) is the standard for industry, outdoor areas and food environments. AISI 316/316L with molybdenum additionally resists chlorides and salt spray — the choice for coastal, marine and chemical sites and aggressive cleaning agents. For the SWN Inox, both can be selected via the ordering code.
Which degree of protection do the stainless steel enclosures achieve?
The SWN Inox achieves IP 65 to EN 60529 — welded body, foamed-in seal. Stainless steel outdoor cabinets are designed per project, typically IP 54/55. What the digits mean is explained in the IP protection classes guide.
Can stainless steel enclosures be painted or powder-coated?
Yes — the standard is the brushed, unpainted surface (4NT). On request, body and door are powder-coated in any RAL colour, for example for outdoor cabinets in the urban landscape.
